There is absolutely no pain in my left shoulder anymore. Two weeks of intolerable suffering. Gone. How? More importantly, how did I realise who to turn to to cure the pain?
I went to the physio last week and realised that the massage he was giving me to relieve the pain was similar to the acupressure that I have seen my dad give to his customers. But my shoulder was still aching after seeing the physio, if not more. And the pressure points where the physio massaged ached like mad days after.
Bit of background, my parents are reflexologists by profession. Been so for more than thirty years. When I was growing up, I would ask my parents for a foot massage as often as I could. Which is probably the reason why I never went to the doctors growing up in Brunei. A foot massage always did the trick.
My younger brother J learned reflexology and acupressure from my parents and my older brother (who is a Chinese doctor and who also took after my parents). So, I asked J to help with my shoulder on Friday evening because I had gone off Nurofen and was in absolute tear jerking pain.
J did what my mum, dad and my older brother taught him. He worked on the pressure points of my shoulder Friday evening. It took away the pain almost immediately. But the pain came back Saturday morning and so J massaged again. And again in the evening. And this morning. And now, the pain is fully gone. And no pressure point pain either.
I really do not know what I have, do I? I mean, as in, having family members who have the skills to heal. Well, now I am reminded of what I have. Explains why they have so many loyal customers.
Here's to knowing.
