I went for a fire procedures training yesterday. Theoretically, to stop a fire, you have to remove one of the components that causes the fire - heat, fuel or oxygen. And there are different fire categories. Which is why there are different fire extinguishers. I learnt that the stripes on the fire extinguishers signify the different fire extinguisher types.

Black strip for CO2. Blue for foam. White for dry chemical. No strip for water. And they have pictographs on the fire extinguishers to show which category they can be used for.

I used a fire extinguisher for the first time and put out a [controlled] fire. Training courses like these make me so appreciative of work. And we have a sundowner this Friday. It is the first time we can bring a friend along so I am looking forward to having a drink or three with G.

And I have got to find a pair of gold coloured strap heels to go with the outfit that I specifically bought for the Arabian themed work ball that Shal has invited me to this Saturday. Maybe I can get it in time for my ballroom slash latin dance class this Thursday. Talk about being ambitious.
