Naa, yo're alright!

If there is one thing that I have picked up from having lived here for so long, it is the way people ask how your day is when in actual fact, they are just saying hello. It happens ever so often that it becomes a norm to respond with a "Yeah, I'm alright" [with a high end intonation] and walk on.

I have fun with it [my foreign self] sometimes. When I am in a serious meeting, unbeknownst to the other party, I throw in an exaggerated pronunciation of a word. So Aussiefied that I want to LMFAO.

But people usually assume that I have an American accent. Nothing wrong with that except for the fact that I have never been to America.

Hah.

Here's to getting a free ticket to travel within Australia.
