The rash

My foot has healed considerably in the two weeks that I was away. I have enough muscles in my leg to walk (short distances) about in my boot without having to use crutches. But now, more than ever, I am hoping that the gap of the fracture has sealed nicely so that the boots can come off. Because I think (I am sure) it is causing the rashes on my foot.

The itch started when I was in the Philippines. And in my tiredness, I scratched the living lights out of it. That is probably when it developed itself into a full blown rash. My mum recommended washing the foot with salt to prevent infection. I did it without realising how good salt felt when rubbed against an itchy skin so I went mad... scrubbing away.

But ma told me later not to scrub as it would potentially break the skin. And that I was only supposed to rinse gently with the salt using warm water.

But did you know that the temperature of warm/hot water against a rash heightens the sensations of the itch? And I had to, with all my might, stop myself from scratching it. Oh, the sorrows!

Here's to scratching.
