This is quite a cosy bed. I have spent the last six hours watching a Korean tv series.
It had a melodramatic storyline of lost love, broken dreams, aspiring actors and musicians, indecisive 20 something year olds, scandals, makeups, breakups, misunderstandings and basically, the whole jungle book of love.
What frustrated me the most was that I could not stop watching the tv series no matter how painfully stretched out the storyline was.
The female protagonist seemed to think that it was okay to be fought over like candy. She was apologetic for most part of the tv series and succumbed to the demands of others, regardless of how detrimental it was to her.
The other female character could not let go of her ex and threw drunken tantrums at every second scene.
Then there were these hysterical groupie chicks who fling themselves at the male protagonist [musician] like their lives depended on it.
Do not get me started with the guys.
The show had the usual, predictable scenes like the riding of bicycles through the streets, the romantic escape from the demanding elders, the car breaking down followed by the carrying of the girl on guy's back and the silent crying.
Yet, I could not stop watching. Nor could my mom. I am so glad we reached the end of the 15 episodes.
I guess we can sometimes be as melodramatic and be so caught up in wanting only the best for others that we do not ask them if it is really what they want. And being so polite and obedient that you cannot stand up for yourself.
Sleepeh. Time to catch a good night's sleep.
