When someone responds positively to us, it is like being given a delightfully refreshing ice-cream sundae with thick, expensive-looking red serviette wrapped around its crunchy cone. Their sincere interest in us encourages us to talk more. Write more. Share more. To take pride in what we do and to let ourselves be.

And likewise, it is a heart warmer to have someone share a part of themselves with us. I find myself drawn to people who are reserved and considered "shy". They are the ones [I believe] with the real stories behind their shy smiles.

There is a form of happiness that comes only from sharing. With family, with friends and with the one person you love.

Is it not great to have someone message you at odd times of the day? Even a simple message is enough to show that someone is thinking of you. The best messages are the ones that come through in the morning, signifying that you were the first person they thought of. I ♥ messages that appear on my phone when I least expect it.

Which is probably why I love coffee/tea/chocolate affogato catch ups.

And bok choy.

I took this photo after noticing how much the bulb of a bok choy looks like a floral pattern. It made sense to me to send photos of bok choy for valentines rather than roses. As best put by Eunice:

Because love alone will not keep you alive

So eat up.

And have a great Valentine's day.

Here's to people who put sense back into the making.

  3. 1. Sign yourself up at posterous.com
    2. Link monicachoo.blogspot.com to Posterous
    3. Set Instagram to "share" to Posterous

..and whatever you post on instagram should appear on your blog automatically, title and all. As long as you "share" to posterous.
