Pumpkin, mice and shoes?

You know the feeling that you get when you find the perfect pair of shoes? Not just any pair of shoes but the ones that you have been imagining and molding to perfection in your head for the last couple of months?

I found the man of my dreams.

Funny thing was that it was like a meeting of fate more than anything else. Not that I believe in fate. I believe that you create your own story and that the path you are on is constantly changing. Or changes when you allow it to. Or when you dare to take the risk to let it change.

But had I believed in fate, I would imagine its preference of being presented when one least expects it to.

I digress.

In that split second, my life had transformed without me knowing it. I met a man who made way for me on the dance floor. A man who was taken aback when I said how nice it was. And how not many guys do that. The same man who then introduced himself and asked if I would like a drink.

This man has brought me out of my comfort zone. Made me feel more comfortable in my own skin than I ever have been. Understands me when I differ from his ways. Speaks to me so eloquently. Pays me attention.

This is the same man that I have become akin to. The man that I want to spend all my waking hours with. I have learned to let go of fear. To do what I feel. To say what I feel. It is not easy but I am comfortable to do so when it comes to him.

He is the man who opens the door for me. Looks after me when I am unwell. Texts me at 6 in the morning when I wake up to tell me how much he is looking forward to see me.

I did not see this coming. How could I have predicted God blessing me with someone so special? I am happy.

In saying that, it is not always uphill. True colours do show over time. But that is when the relationship progresses and deepens in meaning. Farts and all.

By me saying "man of my dreams", let me paint a picture for you to better explain. I have always played around with the idea of meeting someone who shared the same [or similar] cultural background as I do. Someone who was asian but not quite asian in that sense. Someone who appreciated other cultures too and adapted well to changes.

Someone who enjoys the music that I do. Has many close friends. Sings. Dances. Eats. Is comfortable in his own skin. Looks after himself. And is somehow selfless.

You see, I never expected anything. Well, I may have pondered on the idea but I did not believe it to resonate so soundly into reality.

I know, he is almost too good to be true. I pinch myself [metaphorically, because you know how I am with pain... I bruise easily okay] everyday. But I have gotten to a stage where I just enjoy being enthralled by him. To stop questioning where the future lies although it is looking pretty good right now.

Yes, I have taken a sabbatical from blogging. So much has happened in the past couple of weeks. In the last six months to be exact. I find it hard to believe that we have stepped past the middle of the year.

Time is but a measure.

Still, it gets to us but. Time for me to get ready for work.

Here's to sliding doors.
