I feel like I am in the process of setting a new default for myself. I have [previously] always fallen back on self blame and negativity when things go wrong.
But I am starting to see the importance of self belief and how that influences others in the process. The simple act of stating what you feel may take a positive effect on others even when you do not see the results immediately. Or if ever.
Take making a presentation for example. I am cautious that at times when I am an audience member that I may not always give away the best "earnest listener" look even when I am listening [with interest].
Not everybody nods their head when they agree with you.
Not everybody makes a response or contribution when you ask a question.
And sometimes we struggle to see that we are getting across to others.
Sometimes we jump ship from our own views and standpoints a bit too quickly. We forget the value of our thoughts and beliefs.
I admit, there are also times when I am so insistent on a train of thought that I fail to hear the point made on the other side. Fail to pick up on the real issue at hand.
It is a hard balance to juggle. To know when to stand your ground and when to realise that you have been stepping on the wrong side the whole time.
Life is a circus.
Guess we can only do what we can and have fun while we are at it.
Here's to tricking it up.
