Things for Everyday Couples

1. A box filled with messages [written by both you and your partner] that validate each other's thoughts. For one of those really big arguments, pull out one of the messages to bring focus, reason and calm back into the conversation again.

2. Put together pieces of A4 paper. Make a life map. Figure out where the both of you want to go in life. And make it happen.

3. Counselling. As taboo or as negative as it sounds, it helps to bring perspective and to better understand ourselves [and each other].

4. A Will. 'nuff said.

5. Money for holidays and emergencies. Explore the world together. And in whatever shape or form, have money set aside for a rainy day [or month(s)].
