The man

Ten things that men should know:

1
We do take notice of a man who smells good, looks good [shaven, ironed clothes, no holes in socks] and feels good about himself.

2
A friendly punch on the arm is still a punch.

3
The flowers do work.

4
Profanity and angst are most unappealing.

5
Do not, I beg of you, do NOT disappear on us.

6
The grabbing of the bum is inappropriate at all times.

7
Know when we are having a whinge and not asking for a solution.

[insert apologetic face here]

8
Burp not, want not.

9
99.9 percent of women are OCD when it comes to shaking hands. Please wash them.

And last but not least

10
Smile, because we love it when you do.

I must be old.

School.

Here's to keeping it right.

  1. you make some good points in your ten things a man should know,I myself fail on a number of them, number one I am afraid is my biggest failing, but at 55 I am no longer trying to impress. However I do try and come up to scratch on the other nine. I have enjoyed reading your blog, it is the first one I have found that is not preaching or trying to sell me something.
10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MEN.
1 We are just like you we have the full gambit of humane emotions but can't always articulate it.

2When men do disappear it is sometimes because they have met an emotion they can't deal with, help them. Some times they disappear because they are dirt bags.
3 most men believe that being a man is no excuse for being violent.
4 Men believe flowers work and are very grateful for a cheap and easy way to excuse bad behaviour.
5 ref your point 6,I assume you mean someone else's.
6 No when you are having a winge we are sometimes genuinely concerned ABOUT YOU.
7 Profanity is part of the male ritual, however if it offends make that clear(as you have done)
8 Most men are as OCD about hygiene as women.
9 Men are sometimes forced into conforming to a stereo type by peer pressure, please don't perpetuate that stereotype.
10 Remember we are all human and the main difference between Men and Women is the spelling.

  2. Hey double T,

I could not help but laugh and be completely amused at your response! It is worthy of a blog in itself.

    Where do I even begin?

I find your 10 THINGS refreshing as they offer a different perspective [the other side] and I must say that it is all starting to make sense.

I am guilty of stereotyping men [based on my experiences] and do tend to form ideas of what they should or should not do without really understanding where they are coming from.

So kudos to you and to your taking time out to challenge my 10 points.

    [insert smile here]

I must say in response to your point 5 that I am referring to mois. But press not the "dislike" button yet for I believe that it may be just me and my silly antics.
